Could this be a much needed end to the traffic issues in Smyrna Tennessee?
“We are budgeting money over the next two years for an arrangement with TDOT (Tennessee Department of Transportation) to improve Sam Ridley Parkway,” Smyrna Town Manager Harry Gill Jr. said Tuesday during an interview at Smyrna Town Hall.
40,000+ Vehicles per day traveled the 4-lane highway in Smyrna daily back in 2015. Consensus show that number could be nearly double now.
The town is aggressively working on the near-future lane expanding plans. They could be adding a Northbound lane at Stone Crest Parkway by the hospital.
Along with some other road and commercial revamping the additional lane and changes could cost as much as $5,000,000+. A lot of which the town of Smyrna will be paying cash for. The right of way extension has already been purchased so this project could be completed by late 2018.
(fairly accurate dramatization😎)
Until then… Continue to practice deep breathing behind the wheel when you’re stuck on Sam Ridley at Rush Hour.
